Just before Christmas, I was desperate for something new for my hair.  I’d had Resta bookmarked on Yelp because of the good reviews, so I decided to try it.  I made an appointment for Christmas Eve.  I wasn’t even sure what I wanted, and told the receptionist that I might want color, or maybe just a cut.  She said that was fine and made me an appointment with Jennifer.

The salon is super cool – art and books everywhere.  Definitely not stuffy.  The atmosphere is incredibly inviting and not intimidating at all (usually a huge problem for me).  I actually bought myself a bracelet while I was there – my Christmas present to myself.

I sat down with Jennifer and we talked about what I wanted to do with my hair.  She was totally up front with me about what my hair will and won’t do, and actually *listened* to my concerns about time, length, etc.  We ended up doing just a trim and some shaping, which was just what I needed, since I’m really not ready to go more drastic right now.  I love it.

I told Jennifer I thought I might want to do some color, so she brought Kathy over.  I haven’t colored in 7-8 years, but since I wasn’t going that dramatic on the cut, I thought it might be nice to have a little something.  Kathy came back with some ideas, and we ended up doing a demi-permanent a little darker red than my natural hair, with some bright red highlights that are FANTASTIC.  The colors she suggested are great and work really well on me.  Also, no burning or itching when the color was on!  Like I said, it’s been a while since I colored, but I was always used to the itching/burning before, so the lack of it was a definite plus.

Jennifer and Kathy were both super friendly and professional – they paid attention to what I wanted, but used their knowledge and experience to help me pick something that actually worked for me, rather than just giving me what I *think* I want regardless of whether it is a good fit.  I am so thrilled that I finally went (just sad I waited so long!) and will definitely be going back for touchups and recommending them both to everyone I know.

As I’ve said on my other review (http://www.yelp.com/us…) Lynn and Jaime are the ones I trust with my hair. It’s been 3 years since I first met them and have had the best experience and compliments on my hair since. Even when I’m not sure of what I want (I get these urges of at least a minor change once in a while) or how to explain it, they get it, and even better than I had imagined. So, needless to say, as soon as I was told they were moving to Resta, I followed.

Resta is a very cool, laid back hair salon. Everyone is very friendly, and they really think about their customers – for example, they not only have the usual magazines for you to look/ read while you’re waiting, they also have puzzle books, chess board, UNO cards… As if that wasn’t enough, Resta is also an Art Gallery. The salon is decorated with paintings, photographs, and more art created by Eric (the owner) and other artists that are lucky to have this venue to promote their work.

As a Salon they offer all services, cut, styling, color, extensions, and more. You are definitely going to find the right person for your hair, like I did with my Jaime/ Lynn team.

As an Art Gallery, watch this place transform into an open space, ready for artists of all mediums present and sell their works. There’s music, wine, friends… gotta love a place like Resta, with a true artist’s soul.

Best mani/pedi I might have ever had. The manicure lasted over 2 weeks without so much as a ding, and pedicure last over a month! I’m sad to see that the nail technician who gave me such a great service is no longer at Resta (according to their website), but I will certainly return in hopes that they have hired someone just as great!

I also took advantage of their Yelp deal…a free manicure with a purchase of a pedicure, and a a free eyebrow wax for new customers!!! I know I won’t get these deals again since I’m not new anymore, but the services were well worth my eventual return.

And yes, its location is a little awkward to see from Linton. Thanks to the previous Yelpers though, I found it OK (without them, I def would have driven past)

After moving from New York to Florida I was so worried that I wouldn’t find a new hair salon that I would love. Every time I would go back to NY for a visit, I would go to my old place.  After seeing so many good reviews on YELP for Resta, I decided to give it a try.  I first went in for a consultation and met with Nicole who cut my hair and Sara who colored my hair.  Both girls were very friendly and they listened to exactly what I wanted.  I made an appointment for the following week and I’m so glad I did!!  I absolutely love how my hair came out.  I highly recommend Nicole and Sara.  I’m sure everyone there is great though.  I would recommend this salon to anyone!West Palm Beach, FL

I’ve been searching for a salon since I moved down to Boynton. Coming from NY, I am really super picky and very hesitant about having to look for a new stylist. I decided to try Resta because they got a good amount of great reviews from other yelpers and so far yelp hasn’t really let me down. I went there last night and saw Jennifer and I am happy to say that I am so pleased with my hair. She listened to what I wanted and took her time. I was always so used to getting a haircut and a blow out in literally 30 mins, paying an arm & a leg, and sometimes not always leaving happy. I absolutely love the fact that I can go back and get my bangs trimmed whenever they start to get wild. I definitely recommend Jen, she was really great and really super nice. I also took advantage of their free waxing special. Genevieve did my eyebrows for me and they are awesome. She was really gentle and the wax they use doesn’t hurt at all.
